Endless ephemerality

I felt like I could see forever
Through borders of lost time,
Past the darkened fluctuations
Of matter and of mind
Over this rolling landscape
Of orange and purple hues,
Unsaturated, yet still gleaming
Brightly, like the pews
Of Edburton Church at Summer’s dawn
Where light trickles through old stained
Glass- through the halos of
Saints and beings bold
That cannot compare to this
Sheer sea of endless earth
That I see and have been
…entrapped in…
Since our birth
Under the stars above, the
Only things really looking down,
Great giants of burning light,
Raging jewels of the greatest crown
That reigns over this. This-
An endless world that exists
For us to roam, to see, to envy,
Yet only if you were near
Could I share with you a hint
Of this endless ephemerality
And find you within it? A
Brushstroke, a shiver;
Seemingly tiny, ever so small,
Yet in this painting aren't we all?
I wish, I wish to see forever into your
Mind, your mysteries, your
Abysses for eyes which devour these
Fens and penetrate my heart… For
When you are offered infinity, when
And where does anything start?
